Gold!!

Well, Lisa scored again. Tonight--Thursday-- the U of M athletes came around. This time, Peter Vanderkaay was with them. He is a two time Olympic athlete. Winning a Gold and Bronze medal in 2008 and a Gold in 2004.

You can see the medals draped around Lisa's neck in the picture. Couldn't quite convince Lisa how cool this was...but I thought it was pretty neat. I wish he would have had more time to chat. Lisa just wanted him to leave the necklace with her.

She has finished her chemo, we are just doing hydration and waiting to find out what caused her temp to spike. Nothing showed up in bloodwork, so docs might let us go home tommorrow if she doesn't spike again. Let's hope!

Some people have noticed that I've been pretty quiet this week. I've just been having a hard time getting my head around some things. Rather than take up a lot of blog space, I've saved the entry elsewhere. For those of you who are wondering what's going on in my head and who want a lengthy read, you can access my thoughts by clicking HERE.

Linda & Mike: Want you both to know we are praying for you to have peace & strength, God says he gives power & strength where we are weary and we pray that for you both today(Isaiah 40:29). We are praying healing for Lisa, ALL things are possible with God. Sometimes we feel helpless in living far away........but God always reminds us to just keep praying for your every need, for peace, hope, encouragement from friends and family, financial blessings & clarity to make tough decisions.
Peace & Grace

Hi Linda & Mike-
My name is Misha, I am AnneMarie's neighbor. My daughter Julia goes to school with all of the kids. I am a Nuclear Medicine technologist. I have some experience with MIBG and radiation isolation procedures. I read your other thoughts attached and know you can't grip the radiation isolation business. If you would like, give me a call and I can kinda fill you in a little more, maybe give you a different perspective on the matter. I'm sure the nursing staff told you as much as they know and gave you all that they could. The other people to talk to are the Nuclear Medicine techs in peds. I think that her name is Liz Wynn, she probably helped on Lisa's studies. Give me a call if you think it will help.

Linda,

I so appreciate your candor and authenticity about the extremely difficult journey you are on. I am always moved by your thoughts; it's a gift that you share with us. We are praying for you. We are praying for healing and strength and grace amidst the pain. I wish we could see you in person but know that we think of you and pray for you often. I do know that God weeps with those who weep. May you feel His presence and His love.

With Love,
